Maths are unconsciously felt a good instrument object aimed at keeping order as much outwards as incoards of oneself "sensible raisoning" i.e. no nonsense. Maths are in such case instrumental to tackle scary personal impulses. They mean a personal equilibrium. |
Maths are claimed to be a tool with an impact on the real world (e.g. physies). They enable constructions in the reality but equally in oneself, they mend wath is missing. -In both cases Maths are felt as having an impact on an individual's outside (a projection from inside) i.e. in reality.

Maths belong to another world, where life is cosy, where the real world is too tough. Maths make an oblivion of the actual world, as if you were in a cocoon. In such case they are good and bad, therefore a divide between a good and a bad object.. |
Maths are considered a bad thing, a means of selection, a basis of failure, learding possibly to insanity. They lead the subject to project on them part of one's worries. -In these letter two cases, maths may be felt as being far from reality.
